Water Media on Paper

When working with watercolor, I don’t try to control the medium as much as I do normally. This allows me to interact with the piece and enjoy painting more. While working on “Magnolia,” I took photos of different stages and put them together to track the evolution of the piece. The finished painting is part of Pacific Art League’s next juried exhibition titled, “Water Media on Paper.”

About the Juror:

Ronald Pratt has been a watercolor artist for over 35 years and an instructor in watercolor technique for over 20 years. He is an associate member of the National Watercolor Society, California Watercolor Association and member of several San Francisco Bay Area art groups. His award-winning paintings are displayed throughout California and included in private collections around the world. His published works include Watercolor: Seasons (Walter Foster, 2012) and The Art of Watercolor Painting (Walter Foster, 2013). (Taken from PAL’s website)
